World Tri FREE Educational Media Resources
The educational media was developed by The Adventure Institute (a 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational organization that uses adventure as an educational tool) in cooperation with The World Tri and is intended to be used as an education resource that will connect stories from The World Tri (an unprecedented human endurance challenge) with tangible classroom learning outcomes. The curriculum is offered free of charge to schools, teachers, parents students and educational organizations as it is presented above. The Migration of The Eel (video)
Summary: A video interview with British Marine Biologist Joe Pecorelli about the life and migration of The Thames Eel. The eels take up to 3 years to migrate from the Sargasso Sea (in the mid-Atlantic) to European rivers, where they spend up to 20 years before making the 4,000-mile return journey across the Atlantic to spawn and die. Heavily threatened by climate change the eels are a great example of tangible victims of humans’ alteration of the Earth’s natural environmental. (Running Time: 4 min 17 sec)
